Artist Statement
The pineapple is a traditional symbol of “welcome” throughout the south. Shaped like a giant pinecone with a voluminous crown, the pineapple immediately commands attention. While it once represented unreachable wealth, the fruit now represents warm welcomes, celebration and hospitality. All of the intangible assets that we appreciate in our home. I love to playfully paint these using fun colors and textures. The perfect “welcome” to adorn your space.
Artist Bio:
Nicki Peeples
Born on the coast and raised in the midlands, Nicki developed a love for art at a very young age. The beach is still her favorite place and She visits there as often as possible. It’s almost like going home in a sense. Chapin, SC has such a special place in her heart, it is where She now lives with her husband and two children. Drawing inspiration from landscapes, florals, people, and animals. The everyday surroundings. Nicki hopes to portray a balance between loose abstraction and subtle realism by combining light and shadows and intriguing color combinations.
You can find pieces of Nicki’s artwork and prints throughout the United States. Ranging from sophisticated gallery settings to small boutiques and stores across the county. Locally, you can find her work at Palmetto fine arts in Chapin, High Noon in Ballentine and The Gallery in Newberry.
