Artist Statement About the Artwork
My art is a constant search for the best way to interpret the beauty of the world that I live in.
I don’t limit myself to one concept. Inspiration and knowledge change with each day and every experience. Each piece that I create, whether a photography piece or a painting are an extension from my past into my future. Where I have been and what I have seen I always marvel at the process. I have a story and whether it is with my paintings or my photography I want to connect my audience.

Artist Bio
Alexandra (Alex) DiFrancesco
A retired school guidance counselor, Alexandra (Alex) DiFrancesco, is a native of West Virginia. She has had the opportunity to live on both the East and West coasts before moving to Chapin, South Carolina 2015.
Alex has enjoyed photography she was a child playing with her parents Kodak Brownie Camera. She enjoys photographing a variety of subjects including Nature and Architecture.
In 2020 during the Pandemic, Alex found a new passion. She decided to try acrylic painting. Alexandra started with 3x3 canvasses. She made ornaments out of them. She now sells her acrylics at galleries and shows. Alexandra has moved up to larger paintings. “I love entering show and exhibits and I consider them all a part of the learning experience.”
Alexandra has participated in the USC School of Visual Art and Design 64th Annual Art Auction in 2019. She has participated in Crooked Creek Art League Juried Shows (2018-2022). Still Hopes Fall Juried Show (2019-2021). In 2019, Alex was juried into the South Carolina State Fair and participated again in 2021. Alexandra was Juried into the 2020 Dogwood Festival and Art Shoe in Denmark, South Carolina. She has completed several one person exhibits, the last in Spring 2022.
Alexandra has been a member of Crooked Creek Art League for 6 years and currently serves on their board as Grant Coordinator. She is also a juried member of the South Carolina Artisans Center in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Sozo Family Fitness
Sozo Family Fitness is proud to host a guest artist display each month in the "Sozo Family Fitness Gallery". In addition to helping Chapin get fit, Kara is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts in Chapin. We are thrilled to be working with Sozo to showcase more art in town.
The gallery is located in the front lobby at Sozo Fitness at 510 Columbia Avenue. It hosts a piece of art by one of Crooked Creek Art League's artists on a monthly rotation.
