Municipal Association Award

The Municipal Association of South Carolina (MASC) held their annual meeting in Greenville recently. For the first time in its history, the Town of Chapin won the MASC Municipal Achievement Award in recognition of its superior performance and innovative program leading to an improved quality of life for its residents.

Started in 1987, this awards program provides local government officials and employees the opportunity to receive deserved recognition for superior and innovative efforts in local government. The program also provides a forum for sharing the best public service ideas in South Carolina.

Chapin received the award in recognition of it's community arts initiative done in partnership with the Crooked Creek Art League. CCAL is proud to be a partner to the town in increasing the presence and accessibility of artwork to the community through the Chapin Art Trail and individual community art installations.

"It is an incredible honor to be recognized for the first time through the Municipal Association for excellence in local government programming. This award underscores the importance of the collaboration and community partnership that makes Chapin so special." said Town Administrator Nicholle Burroughs while expressing her appreciation for the award. Mayor Koon expressed his excitement about the award as well.
