January 2022 Presenter: Anne Hightower Patterson

It's a whole new year and a chance to restart your artwork for the coming year. We invite you to join us at our meeting on Monday January 17, 2022 for some fun and fellowship! This is our regular monthly members meeting.

NOTE: Due to rising Covid numbers, we will now offer this as a virtual meeting on Zoom ONLY. Hope to see you there - members and guests welcome!

For January, we're in for a treat. Our presenter will be long time CCAL member, national award winner and all around great person Anne Hightower Patterson.

How is Your Composition Doing?

Anne will offer a critique of members’ current artwork with an Eye on Composition. Each artist is invited to send no more than one jpeg image to Anne at patter816@aol.com. Please list in the subject line: Your Name / Crooked Creek Art League. Please also include in your email the title of the piece.

Always extremely popular, Anne has offered this opportunity to our members in prior years and it has always been a big hit and a great learning experience for all. Anne will critique as many pieces as time allows.

Emailing her your images in advance offer us three advantages:

  1. Everyone can participate, whether in person or via Zoom

  2. Anne will have advance time to really analyze the pieces and potentially show (using digital editing) why the changes she suggests might help improve the work.

  3. We will have a record of the recommendations that all our members can go back to again to learn more.

You are not required to actually bring your painting to the meeting but you can if you want. If you do, please plan to bring your own easel or stand to display the piece.

NOTE: We have made an adjustment to the time and location for our meetings due to a permanent change to earlier closing hours at Crooked Creek Park. Please be sure to make a note on your calendar and plan accordingly!

Refreshments/Social Time: 5pm-6pm

Meeting runs 6-8pm.

Presentation will be approximately 6:30-7:30.

To give us a little more space to spread out, we will meet in the FRONT meeting room adjacent to the kitchen (where our awards reception has been held in the past). This is the first room on the left after entering through the lobby.

  • In light of current high rates of infection and CDC guidelines, we request that everyone wear masks during the meeting except when eating. The Board will revisit this policy as the situation evolves or park policies change.

To keep the business meeting shorter, please review the information provided by our President regarding Board business activities and decisions prior to the meeting <Click HERE one week prior to the meeting>.

The Zoom session will open at 5:45pm

The Meeting will begin at 6pm

Under the tutelage of her high school teacher, Virginia Fouche Bolton, she found her lifelong love and passion for making art.
