Sandra Oliver

North Carolina native and graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC-G), Sandra Oliver has called South Carolina home since 1976. She retired from the South Carolina public schools after teaching business, mathematics, and adult education in Orangeburg and Newberry.
She first developed an interest in art after moving to Newberry, SC, in 1993 when she studied pastel and oil painting for a brief period. Sandra did not resume her art studies until mid-2011, when she began watercolor lessons with Anna Kay Singley. She has also participated in numerous watercolor, acrylic, and drawing workshops.
Sandra’s primary medium is watercolor, although she occasionally works in acrylics and mixed media. She has been juried into the South Carolina State Fair Fine Arts Exhibit, Amateur Division, every year since 2011 (Merit Award, Fine Art Amateur award in 2022 for watercolor painting, “Mommie’s Graduation”). She has also exhibited paintings in Crooked Creek Annual Juried Art Exhibition (Post Card Award in 2017 for mixed media painting, “Orchid”), Union County Arts Council Juried Art Show, Still Hopes Exhibit, and Irmo Library Exhibit.
