About the Artwork
"Campbell's Covered Bridge"

Campbell's Covered Bridge, built in 1909, is the last remaining covered bridge in South Carolina. It is located in the northeast part of Greenville County. I visited the area in the spring when the redbud trees were blossoming, and the grass was turning green. This painting is framed. The framed dimensions are 32.5 " x 27".
Artist Bio
Jan Lane’s art career began after homeschooling her four children and caring for her mother, although, creating has always been a passion for her. Through the years it manifested itself in many areas but now she is able to focus on oil painting.
Working in oils, Jan paints in a representational style with vibrant colors yet with a subtle tone that enhances the effect of light. Her paintings are inspired by the many beautiful places that she has traveled and by her love of nature, each giving a sense to the viewer that they are witnessing the scenes for themselves.
Jan enjoys painting either on location (plein air) or in her studio and continues to be amazed at how a few strokes of paint can bring an object to life. Through classes, workshops, and coaching, Jan is constantly striving to learn new skills and is enjoying the challenge.
Crooked Creek Art League has provided many opportunities to display her paintings. She has won a merit award and a first-place award in the CCAL juried shows. She has also been chosen as an Artist-in-Residence for the State Parks for the last two years.
One of Jan’s goals in her work is to create paintings that bring peace and serenity to the viewer and reflect the beauty of His Creation that is all around us.

Each month, CCAL shines a spotlight on one of our own. The Chapin Chamber of Commerce graciously features the art of this artist in their lobby in the CCAL Spotlight Artist Gallery.
This exhibit features one piece of wall hanging artwork per month.
The gallery is located in the lobby of the Chapin Chamber of Commerce at 302 Columbia Avenue in Chapin. It hosts a rotating display with a new piece from a Crooked Creek Art League artist featured each month.
