Artist Bio:
Judy Maples
In addition to painting, award-winning abstract artist Judy Maples has several obsessions. She's an animal lover and a dog foster mom; a grammar nerd; a recovering proofreader; and a nature lover who prefers being outside as long as it doesn't involve exercise.
Using acrylics on canvas, Judy's abstract paintings have a mid-century modern aesthetic. Judy's paintings combine the old and the new, creating texture and a sense of history behind each layer.
Judy won first place in the amateur division at the 2022 SC State Fair for her painting, "Concrete and Gold." She has been featured in Chapin magazine's Art Issue and Chapin Neighbors magazine. "There's healing power and a sense of calm that only a brush (or a palette knife) on canvas can give. I look forward to growing and learning artistically. I didn't discover my passion for painting abstracts until relatively late in life, so I feel like I have some catching up to do!"

The gallery can be located throughout the Prosperity Town Hall Offices at 305 N. Main Street, Prosperity, SC 29127.
CCAL is proud to partner with Prosperity for an exhibition gallery in the Prosperity Town Hall. We are grateful for their support and proud to have them as a business partner in supporting the arts in the community.
In this gallery, preference is given to art and artists with a direct connection to the Town of Prosperity, but all artists in the league can participate.
This exhibit hosts a minimum of 6-8 pieces but can accommodate as many as 12 pieces of wall hanging artwork per month.
