Artist Bio:
Adelia Shirer Ruth
Adelia Shirer Ruth, native of Georgetown, SC, studied with Ilona Smithkin of New York, impressionistic art. She has also studied with Anna Kay Singley, Nancy Bourne, Wanda Coleman, Pat Weaver, Birgit O’Conner, Lee Monts and, more recently, perspective with Anne Hightower Patterson White, oil with Barbara Teusink, and abstract with Ingrid Carson.
Adelia's watercolor won 3rd Place in the Newberry SC Agricultural Expo Exhibition. In 2012 her watercolor was juried into the SC State Fair Exhibit of the Arts. In 2013 she won 2nd Place in the Amateur Division of the SC State Fair and in 2014, 2016, and 2017 was juried into the prestigious Artfields of Lake City, SC. In 2015 the 2014 Artfields painting won 1st Place in the North Charleston Arts Festival. In 2016 her entry “Arts My Bag” watercolor won 3rd Place and was purchased by City of North Charleston.
Adelia is a member of the Crooked Creek Art League in Chapin, SC and has exhibited and sold paintings in many arts and crafts festivals across SC. Her art is currently shown at The Gallery in Newberry, SC, The Added Touch in Saluda, SC and the Newberry hospital in Newberry, SC. Adelia and her husband, the Reverend E. Devon Ruth, now live in Saluda, SC.

CCAL is proud to partner with Prosperity for an exhibition gallery in the Prosperity Town Hall. We are grateful for their support and proud to have them as a business partner in supporting the arts in the community.
In this gallery, preference is given to art and artists with a direct connection to the Town of Prosperity, but all artists in the league can participate.
This exhibit hosts a minimum of 6-8 pieces but can accommodate as many as 12 pieces of wall hanging artwork per month.
