Art at O'Hara's Gallery Opens!
CCAL is excited to now be partnered with O'Hara's Bakery Café in Lexington to exhibit a rotating display of artwork by local artists.
Located on Historic Main Street in Lexington, O'Hara's goal is to provide an inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy gourmet coffee, signature cocktails and delectable desserts made from scratch right in our kitchen. They provide freshly brewed coffee that was roasted right here in the Palmetto State. And they tirelessly provide a variety of ingeniously-crafted, daily baked treats for you to indulge your taste buds. So, whether you’ve just eaten one of their delicious meals at O’Hara’s Public House, and still have room for a tasty treat, or you are out and about and looking for that extraordinary place calling out to your taste buds, it's a great place to go to indulge yourself!
And now, you can add the enjoyment of beautiful artwork to your visit! The gallery exhibit spans a large brick wall inside the café at 121 E. Main Street in Lexington. It will host a collection of art by one or more of Crooked Creek Art League's artists on a three month rotation.
Thank you so much to Matt O'Hara for being a great partner to our community and for his support of the arts!
The inaugural display in the gallery showcases artwork by three CCAL artists:

Mary Collette
Mary is a native of Massachusetts. For 23 years she accompanied her husband during his military career. They settled in Summerville, SC in 2003 and worked in downtown Charleston.
In 2015, following retirement, they moved to Lexington where they now call home.
She attended evening class with instructor Barbie Mathis at City Art (a member of Trenholm Artist Guild). She has also taken instruction on improving her artwork through Melony Stucky (a member of the South Carolina Water Media Society). During her stay in Charleston, she had the unique opportunity of observing the art teachers during their many art classes.
In 2020, she entered her first painting into the Still Hopes Exhibit, “Durango Silverton River” winning first prize and in 2021 receiving first prize in the painting “Waiting” in the Juried Show at Crooked Creek. Her painting “Tiger” and “Durango Silverton River” were accepted and entered in the South Carolina Fair.
Mary has always loved painting and drawing. “I love to paint realism of things that inspire me, such as places we have been, events in our lives or just something that catches my eye.”

Will Clark
Will moved to Lexington SC in 1999. His education was in business management science and he was awarded a Governor’s Citation from the governor of Maryland for academic achievement and eventually earned a BS degree in Management Science from Wesley College. He retired in 2016 from Southeastern Freight Lines where he had worked as a Pricing Analyst for 17 years. He took art lessons with his wife, Brenda Clark at the Village Artists gallery in Sand Hill for about 6 months where he discovered to his amazement that he could paint. After getting hooked on painting he eventually found that he loved painting water scene landscapes more than anything else.
He joined Crooked Creek over a year ago and found that working with other artists enhanced his love of art and since continues to paint as often as he can.

Brenda Clark
I have enjoyed painting, needlepoint, ceramics and trying to grow flowers in my backyard garden enduring all this South Carolina heat. LOL I enjoy painting acrylic landscapes on canvas, either abstract or realism, well, sort of real…
I moved to Lexington, SC in 1999 and have enjoyed being a member of Crooked Creek Art League. Working with other artists has increased my love of painting.
I won the Amateur Merit award in the Crooked Creek 2020 Annual Juried Show for my painting titled “Look Out the Window, it’s Snowing.” I won the Amateur Merit Award in the Crooked Creek 2021 Annual Juried Show for my painting titled “Tickled Pink.”
