I was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia and as long as I can remember, I have always loved "to create"!!! For a while in the 80's, I enjoyed making Folk Art with acrylic paints, but for most of my adult life I was happy as a stay-at-home mom for our 4 children. When the children were in college my husband Donald and I were transferred to Europe for a few years. Being exposed to all the amazing art and architecture there was truly a gift. While living in Amsterdam, I took oil painting lessons from Charissa van de Kerkof. Charissa was a patient and fun instructor and I gained confidence from her. Now that we are back in the states and retired to SC, I am blessed to be taking watercolor classes from Anne Hightower-Patterson White. Anne is a wonderful teacher and I consider her to be a good friend. She encouraged me to attend Kanuga Watermedia Workshops, where I have had the privilege to study under Soon Y Warren and Judy Morris. I believe painting is an opportunity to reflect the beauty seen in our world. I am excited to continue this journey "to create", thanking God for all of His blessings.
