The Artists Place Gallery: Sep-Oct Blue Ribbon Winner!

We have a new winner in our Sept/Oct TAP Gallery display!

The Blue Ribbon Winner in The Artist's Place Gallery competition for this month is Shin Wilbanks with her lovely painting, "Heron". Our theme this month was "Feathered Friends". We had a great selection with many wonderful artwork this month!

This month's competition was judged by the Crooked Creek Park Staff.

Artist Bio

A native of South Korea, I immigrated to the United States in 1972. I am a naturalized U.S. citizen. I am a retired Registered Nurse after a career of over 30 years specializing in recovery room nursing.I have always excelled in the fine arts and painting was a favorite activity of mine since childhood. During my career, I had little time to develop my talent. But after retirement, I have happily pursued my art. I have taken the opportunity to attend workshops, seminars and other instructional activities to hone my skills.​I enter paintings in several competitive venues in the state. For instance, in the 2015 South Carolina State Fair, I won the second place prize in the professional division. Earlier this year (2016), one of my paintings was accepted into the Art Fields competition in Lake City, South Carolina. In addition, through the years I have won several awards at the Crooked Creek Art League annual juried exhibits.

Also, artists with artwork from the "Feathered Friends" exhibit should plan to take home their pieces while at the meeting.
