October 2019 Presenter: Kathryn Van Aernum

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

While primarily known as a photographer and photo blogger, Kathryn Van Aernum is also an accomplished watercolorist, mixed media and book artist. The Arthur and Meta Jaffe Rare Book Collection at Florida Atlantic University acquired her one-of-a-kind artist book on the history of the name Katherine for its permanent collection. Her work has appeared in juried competitions, group and solo exhibits in Key West, FL; Boulder, CO; Fort Collins, CO; Ann Arbor, MI; and Columbia, Spartanburg and Lake City, SC. and is in many private collections throughout the US.She blends her artistry and 20 years as a mindfulness meditation practitioner to help professionals who have buried their creative soul in the daily grind reclaim creative confidence so they can thrive in their work and beyond.

The theme for the artwork in the TAP Gallery for Oct/Nov will be “What I’m thankful for...”“Giving Thanks”. Be sure to bring some art to hang in the gallery and compete in the monthly contest.

Also, artists with artwork from the "Feathered Friends" exhibit should plan to take home their pieces while at the meeting.
