Congratulations to our Spotlight Artist of the Month for July: Debra K. Kelly!

Pastel Painting "Sitting Pretty" by Debra K. Kelly

"Sitting Pretty"

About This Piece:

The subject of this painting was one of the lorikeets in the interactive walk-through aviary at Riverbanks Zoo. The striking rainbow colors and lively antics of these friendly birds attract many visitors to the zoo every year. The lorikeet was painted from an unusual angle on its branch, as it worked the crowd for attention and food. This piece is pastel on pastel paper.
