"Poás Crater Lake"

About This Piece:

This impressionistic piece is based a view of the Poás Crater Lake at the top of the Poás Volcano in Costa Rica. It is oil on a panel. This striking view was one of many beautiful scenes we enjoyed during a visit to Costa Rica. The Poás Volcano, is an active 2,708-meter stratovolcano in central Costa Rica and is located within Poás Volcano National Park. It has erupted 40 times since 1828, including April, 2017 when visitors and residents were evacuated.

Artist Bio

A resident of Columbia since her childhood, Judy only recently began exploring her artistic talents. She took up painting after retiring from a 30 year career with the federal courts. She is currently exploring various media and techniques including oil, acrylics and watercolor. She enjoys impressionist to abstract artwork and hopes to build her skills in those areas. Judy is proud be a member of Crooked Creek Art League. Her other interests include dog training and competition with her border collies.
