Spotlight Artist August 2017: Roger Buenzow
"ABANDONED"
Roger Buenzow’s art training began later in life, just before he retired in 2006. While living in Biloxi, MS he started taking acrylic painting lessons from a local art teacher. He enjoys sailing and being on the water, so his subject matter includes painting boats, water scenes, birds and landscape paintings. After moving to Chapin, SC he joined the Crooked Creek Art League and expanded his art studies by taking workshops in water color, oil painting and pallet knife painting. His painting “ABANDONED” is an award winning painting in the Crooked Creed Art League Juried Show for 2015. The painting was inspired by a photograph taken by his Brother-In-Law Robert Leberak of an old barn located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Roger also enjoys photography and wood carving. He received three awards on his photography during the 2015 and 2017 Juried Shows. Roger lives on Lake Murray with his wife Margaret and their Golden Retriever Bosun.
