Spotlight Artist July 2017: Nancy Mandish

"Dogwood Tree on Columbia Avenue"

Nancy Mandish is a dentist, a mom, a grandmom, and occasional artist. She enjoys working out at Crooked Creek Park and water skiing on Lake Murray. She has also put in a summer garden for the last several years.

Nancy grew up in Ohio, graduated from The Ohio State School of Dentistry, married Craig Mandish - also an OSU graduate whose first job brought them to Columbia, SC. Upon moving to this area, the Mandish's were both attracted to the beauty of Lake Murray and purchased a lot on the lake in Chapin. They eventually built a home on that lot where they've raised their four sons. Nancy maintains her practice in Irmo and Craig is now retired from engineering and from driving a school bus for Lexington District 5 in Chapin.

Nancy started painting about 10 years ago and joined Crooked Creek Art League. She has served on the board and attended several workshops over the years. She continues to be active in the art league.
