Sozo Fitness Gallery Art - May 2023

Congratulations to featured artist, Sandra Wilkie, for displaying her painting in Sozo Fitness Gallery during May 2023. Sandra is an award-winning artist and active member of Crooked Creek Art League. She received the Sozo Sponsorship Award at the 2023 CCAL Juried Art Show with "Campbell's Covered Bridge" shown below.

Campbell's Covered Bridge is located in northern Greenville County near Landrum, SC and was constructed between 1909 and 1911 over Beaverdam Creek. It is the only remaining covered bridge in SC and was named for Alexander Lafayette Campbell who operated a grist mill downstream of the bridge.

Sandra Wilkie

Sandra began her adventure as an artist after retiring from a career in the telecommunications and project management arenas. During her preparation for retirement, Sandra joined a friend in attending oil painting classes and found that she loved painting with oils and has been hooked ever since! Her focus is on painting the things she loves - sea shells, beaches, landscapes, flowers, still life, and beautiful scenery from her travels.

While living in the Columbia area, she was very active in the Crooked Creek Art League and received awards in their annual Juried Show Amateur Division in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021 and again in the 2023 show. In addition, her artwork was accepted into the SC State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition – Amateur Division for years 2014 through 2017.

Sandra returned to Greenville in 2018 and has exhibited her work at the White Rabbit Fine Art Gallery in Travelers Rest. After nearly two years of renovations, she finally has an art studio again AND the time to actually do some painting! She loves to share her paintings with others and always looks forward to beginning the next work of art!

CCAL Gallery Host:

Sozo Family Fitness is proud to host a guest artist display each month in the "Sozo Family Fitness Gallery". In addition to helping Chapin get fit, Kara is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts in Chapin. We are thrilled to be working with Sozo to showcase more art in town.

The gallery is located in the front lobby at Sozo Fitness at 510 Columbia Avenue. It hosts a piece of art by one of Crooked Creek Art League's artists on a monthly rotation.
