Karen Larrabee's Painting Receives Award

Congratulations to CCAL member Karen Larrabee who received an award at the Fairfield County Art Guild's "Music as Inspiration" art exhibit. Her painting "and the beat goes on..." not only won a merit award, but it also was sold.

The juror wrote the following about her piece.

"And the Beat Goes On – Even before I listened to the song, I had a clear immediate impression of what this painting would sound like! Turned out to be a very accurate depiction of funk music. Square regular beats stamping out all throughout and the small pieces of music notes for saxophone etc. is very intentionally visible. This piece has an exclusively decorative feel, as opposed to having a subject or story."
