New options and opportunities for artists often come our way. These can be a great way to get involved, get exposure and give back.
Here are a few great opportunities available to our artists right now.
The Town of Chapin is looking to pay an artist to help with the design of a new Trail Board. The RFP can be found at www.chapinsc.com/bids.aspx?bidid=21. This will go at the head of the new nature trail behind Chapin Town Hall. The trail already has a number of trail markers from our most recent community art project. Let's help make the welcome sign to the trail be wonderfully artful too!

Rainbow International’s 11th Annual Charity Golf Classic and Auction benefits young, local mothers battling late-stage cancer. Our mission is to create an entertaining event that allows individuals and companies to join together in the common goal of raising funds for young mothers and their families, in hopes they can focus more on their battle and less on financial issues.
This started when in 2011, Reed Mattingly, owner of Rainbow, held a golf tournament to raise money for a local charity. The next year, he learned about the wife of a friend/business colleague, who was battling late-stage breast cancer. He decided to dedicate that year’s tournament to raising funds for them. The event raised $20,000 and was such a huge success, Reed was inspired to dedicate all future golf tournaments to the support of other young mothers battling late-stage cancer.
That was the beginning of what has grown into a major fundraising event for young moms. As of 2019, a little over $396,000 has been given out to 27 beneficiaries. We receive a lot of support from our business community, which is vital to the success of this tournament.
We need all the help we can get. We are looking for sponsors, teams, auction donation items and monetary donations. If someone is wanting to sign up a team, tell them to do it soon, as teams fill up quickly.
